Thoughtfully curated pieces I’m loving right now
Furniture sourcing has always been one of my favourite parts of the design process. There’s something incredibly satisfying about finding pieces that feel timeless, grounded, and quietly beautiful — the kind that don’t shout for attention, but still completely make a space.
These Studo Picks are a snapshot of furniture finds I’m currently drawn to. These are pieces I see myself using again and again in projects: versatile silhouettes, warm textures, and materials that layer effortlessly into real, lived-in homes. Nothing overly trendy — just well-designed furniture that feels good to live with.
Why these pieces work together
Lately, I’ve been gravitating toward soft neutrals with depth. Creams that feel warm instead of stark, woods that add character without overpowering a space, and accents that bring subtle contrast. This palette creates a calm foundation, but still leaves room for personality — art, textiles, and those collected details that make a home feel personal.
The sectional anchors the room with its generous scale and relaxed lines. It’s the kind of piece that invites you to actually use it — stretch out, gather, unwind. I always look for sofas that balance comfort with clean proportions, especially for family-friendly spaces that still want to feel elevated.
The coffee table introduces warmth and structure. I love furniture with a bit of traditional detailing reinterpreted in a fresh way — it adds a sense of history without feeling heavy. Paired with sculptural accents or a simple tray, it becomes both functional and beautiful.
Side tables and lighting are where I like to have a bit of fun. These are the pieces that quietly elevate a room. Mixed metals, organic shapes, and thoughtful finishes add layers without cluttering the overall look.
And then there’s the accent chair — a personal favourite in this edit. It adds depth and contrast while still feeling cohesive with the softer tones around it. Accent chairs are one of my go-to tools for giving a space personality without committing to anything too bold.
My approach to furniture selection
After 17 years in the industry, I’ve learned that good design isn’t about filling a room — it’s about editing. I’m always asking:
-
Does this piece serve a purpose?
-
Will it age well?
-
Does it support how the client actually lives?
-
I design with longevity in mind. I want my clients to love their homes not just on install day, but years down the line. That’s why furniture like this matters — pieces that feel considered, adaptable, and timeless.
